British artist Anna-Louise Felstead graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001 with first-class honours before receiving her Master of Arts at the Royal College of Art in 2003. She began painting race cars in 2008 after being commissioned by the MoD to paint the Royal Navy's ships, harrier jump jets & helicopters.
Her love of mechanical objects led to painting at events such as Goodwood Revival, the Festival of Speed, Monaco, Spa, Pebble Beach, Paul Ricard & the Nurburgring to name a few. Through her racing connections & she was then invited to race an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce at Monza & Silverstone Classic & also took part in the Monte Carlo Rally in a Guilietta Ti & Tour Auto in an Alfa TZ1.
Anna-Louise's quirky ink paintings are very vibrant & she attempts to depict the character of these well loved automobiles in a light & humorous way, sometimes as a simple portrait or as a scene involving mechanics working on the car. She had a solo exhibition at the McLaren dealership in Knightsbridge in 2012 & her work has been published in many magazines. She now resides & works in New York City.
